Filament 38

ABOUT

Cleveland Ohio based Filament 38 was conceived in 2001 as the expressive vision of Ash. Using electronics to create mystique and darkness, Ash composes material that focuses on emotions and imagery.

A series of well received live performances and quickly recorded demos found the attention of Chicago's Negative Gain Productions (-NGP+), who signed Filament 38 to their record label August 2002. Now a part of the same family as Cruciform Injection and Emergence, Filament 38 released its debut album entitled Fractured December 2002. Described as dark, gritty, and mysterious, the CD is a stand alone effort and landed Filament 38 local opening slots for Hocico, Haujobb, Covenant, E-Craft, Razed in Black, and Imperative Reaction.

In April 2005 the second CD Unstable was released and continued further into a gray area best described between classic EBM and modern electro-industrial. Unstable garnered the band festival appearances at Blacksun “06” and Reverence “07” and performes alongside bands such as Front 242, Front Line Assembly, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and Assemblage 23.

Filament 38 is now set to present their 3rd studio release. Frail is a 10 track EP that shows maturity and polish along with an aggression mastered through the first two releases. The limited run EP will be unleashed March 2010 on Chicago’s inde label -NGP+. This release includes the member additions of Sigma assisting Ash with programming and Jason K. (Pig) contributing live guitar and energy.
